Sober living homes, also known as sober living residences and sober living homes, are residences that offer supportive, safe living conditions and housing for recovering drug addicts. These establishments help to provide for their residents’ needs while they deal with their addiction to alcohol, drugs or both. Many of the residential treatment facilities and residential rehabs that have residential rehab programs are designed specifically to meet the needs of the addict in terms of counseling and assistance in the use of facilities and services such as housing, healthcare, personal security, and food. Most of these sobered living residences have a 24 hour hotline, if there is an emergency or problem in one’s home.

Sober living homes provide a more structured lifestyle than other rehabilitation programs, including both group therapy sessions and individual therapy sessions. There are several types of programs offered in these types of homes. One of these is group therapy, which offers the addict a chance to get together with other addicts in a safe environment. Group therapy is also sometimes called “relational therapy” because it allows the addict to work with others in an environment that is structured in the same way as their home life. One of the most common therapies offered at a residential treatment facility is inpatient therapy. This type of therapy requires the addict to be admitted to the facility for a specific period of time, depending on the severity of the addiction.

Residential treatment centers often have their own staffs to handle the addict’s needs. These staff members may include therapists, medical personnel, support staff and a mix of different types of professionals, all of whom work toward the common goal of getting the addict into recovery. Residential rehab programs offer many types of care, including therapy, medications, therapeutic living, vocational training, and even employment opportunities. The addict is encouraged to take full responsibility for the decisions that he makes while he is in the treatment program.
