Royal Life Centers at Chapter 5

Sober Living Homes, also referred to as sober living centers and sober living environment, are facilities which offer safe, structured housing and support, and usually include a 12-step treatment program for people coming out of drug rehab programs. Most addicts choose to live at one of these homes as their primary place of residence. However, some people still need to go into residential drug rehab treatment centers and detoxification centers to complete their recovery. Some people in these residential treatment facilities choose to stay in a sober living home in order to continue with their recovery process while they are receiving treatment and have a much easier transition into their daily life. An SLH can be one of the best choices for an addict who is planning to take full control of their life by leaving the drug abuse behind and going back to living a normal life.

Sober Living Homes are also known as sober living apartments or even so-called sober communities. They offer residents the option of being close to their homes, schools and work but in a structured, supervised environment. Residents of a residential drug treatment facility stay in an apartment that may include shared laundry facilities, private bathrooms and kitchens. The living areas are monitored by a trained staff and are furnished with all the required amenities that residents expect. In addition, residents are free to come and go from the residence as they please, but they may only be allowed to do so after the staff has taken possession of their personal belongings left behind in the home.

Many addicts feel more comfortable being around family members and friends once they have made the decision to return to a routine of living on their own. One of the advantages of living in a residential treatment facility is that you can meet with your family members and friends in the same environment each week to catch up on current events and share your feelings about your recovery. You can also meet with other residents to discuss ways you can help make the residential drug rehab environment as comfortable as possible for all residents. When you are living in a residential treatment facility, you will also enjoy the freedom to choose what activities you want to participate in and how you want to spend your days. When you make the decision to live in a sober living center, you will be provided with a support system consisting of staff and fellow residents who are there to help guide you through your recovery process. and make the transition into a new and healthier lifestyle as easy as possible.
