Sober Living Homes, sometimes called sober living communities and sober living facilities, are facilities which offer structured, safe living conditions and safe shelter to people leaving drug rehabilitation programs. Many times, these residences have been designed to meet the specific needs of the addict and his family members. A Sober Living Home is a home or apartment that serves as a transition between conventional living and drug rehabilitation programs. The purpose of this type of rehab residence is to help the addicted individual to make a successful transition from drug use and dependency to a sober and happy lifestyle. Many people who have completed residential drug treatment programs choose to remain in an SLH while they complete their program because they prefer a more private and comfortable setting in which to live.

There are many types of Sober Living Homes. Some of them are simply apartments and other complexes where the addict resides with other people in a similar situation. Other types are much larger than individual apartments. In addition to apartments, the facilities may consist of small condos or townhouses. Depending on the size of the unit and the amount of people who may be living there, the number of residents can vary. In most cases, a typical residential treatment facility has three to ten residents in the living area. However, the number of residents in an individual living room or private suite may differ as well.

When deciding on a residential treatment facility, it is important to consider several factors including the availability of care staff and medical facilities, the price, and the quality of care provided. The cost of treatment can vary widely depending on the severity of the addict’s problem and the number of people who will be joining him or her. A high-end residential treatment facility will usually cost several thousand dollars per month. For an addict struggling with alcohol or drug addiction, it may seem difficult to find a reasonable price. Fortunately, there are several organizations that can help you find affordable treatment. These organizations can be helpful because they often offer referrals and counseling services. These organizations will also provide referrals to other treatment centers and communities that offer safe and healthy living arrangements for addicts in need.
