MGA Crisis Intervention

Sober Living Homes, also referred to as sober living homes or residential treatment facilities, are facilities that offer structured, safe housing and support, structured social living situations for those exiting drug rehab programs. SLHs are designed to enable individuals to gradually become more drug-free and eventually to return to their normal lives. A SLH is designed to be one of the most fulfilling experiences a drug addict will have in their life. In addition, many SLHs also allow for individual and family accountability programs, in which family members are encouraged to work with a professional to help manage a relapse.

Sober living homes were created in the 1960s to provide an effective alternative to residential treatment centers. With residential drug treatment programs, many addicts who are unable to overcome their addiction are left in an isolated, non-custodial environment, where they will likely fail to receive the proper support and care needed to recover. Residential treatment programs can be very expensive, but they often come with a wide variety of restrictions, including strict rules and a lack of individual and family accountability. With an SLH, there are a number of advantages to living in a residential environment. Many times, residential treatment programs leave an addict in the same situation they were in before entering the program – isolated, without the support and supervision of family members or a support group. SLHs provide the structure and support an addict needs to become drug-free and stay drug-free. It also provides a means for recovering addicts to interact with others, allowing them to reintegrate themselves into their daily lives.

If you or someone you know is battling an addiction and is looking for a way to live drug-free, the key to staying sober is to choose the right residential treatment facility. There are many benefits to being housed in a residential treatment facility, including access to a wide range of treatment services and support. Residential rehabs provide an opportunity for a person to live a life free from drug abuse. These facilities are also great for those who need to get clean but don’t want to be tied down by a long term rehab program. The key is finding the right residential treatment facility for your needs.
