More Information about Sober Living in Derby Kansas
I’m from the Kansas side of the country and I’ve been looking for information about sober living in derby Kentucky. My family is full of folks that have or are going through a tough time. A couple of my grandsons went through some serious trouble there. It wasn’t all that long ago that my grandsons started doing pretty bad things-drugs, stealing, threatening people they didn’t know and just generally being poor. So, they needed somewhere to get better, so they went to boarding school.
So, they left their home-no, they transferred into a halfway house, which they were in charge of, and they moved into a new residence. What really surprised me there was that one of my grandsons started talking about leaving the halfway house because he’d had enough of all the drugs, the violence, and the drinking. He said he’d had enough of it and wanted to be on his own. Well, my sister-in-law was kind enough to let him go there and take care of him, but he said he wanted to come back to live with me. I asked him why, and he said he just needed a change of pace.
I guess if you’re in a transition period like my grandsons were, then you’ll need to have some sort of support system, and one of the best places for support in my opinion, is a HUD (Housing and Urban Development) house. These HUD homes are in good neighborhoods, and they’re usually owned by the government-which means they get to stay there free and clear, and you don’t have to pay rent. The nice thing about them is that they’re usually located in areas where there are lots of people-people that need a place to live, so it’s not hard to find one that will suit you. In addition, many HUD homes are also rental properties, so you won’t have to worry about being cooped up in one particular area.
