More Information about Sober Living in Weston Florida

There is an abundance of Information about Sober Living in Weston Florida, which provides a valuable insight into the many alternatives that exist to living in the traditional mainstream style of life. This article focuses on a very successful and inspirational small business owned and operated by Mark Lingo. Mr. Lingo believes strongly, “Homeless shelters and transitional living facilities are two of the best ways to help people while they learn how to transition out of poverty.” He has been a licensed social worker with the State of Florida for the last 23 years, and is the Executive Director of the Miami-Dade County Human Services Department. With the assistance of these so called transitional living facilities, families facing an inevitable future of living on the streets can learn how to flourish and survive in a rich and rewarding community while simultaneously learning a valuable skill set needed to succeed in today’s global economy. These services provide training and hands-on tools necessary to ensure a positive outcome to each individual while preparing them for a successful career. Mr. Lingo believes, “It would be impossible for any family to survive without some type of structure, help, and guidance.” By offering classes at one of their half way houses and transitional housing apartments, families are learning valuable lessons in personal responsibility, resilience, goal setting, financial management, personal development, and life skills. The benefit of such an experience is, “The children will have a much better chance at having a stable and loving family when they grow up.” Additionally, families are provided with shelter, food, medical care, and education during the duration of their stay at the transitional housing facility. The primary goal of the Miami-Dade County Human Services department is to prevent further recurrence of the overpopulation of the homeless in the county. Therefore, they dedicate resources and staff to assisting each family that becomes displaced due to an abrupt change in circumstances such as death or divorce. Through the provision of emergency, transitional, and homeless shelters, they assist families that are struggling with the transition to stability and well being. Some of the services offered by the Miami-Dade County Human Services Department include: providing referrals to qualified individuals and organizations that can offer assistance to the family; conducting assessments; providing the family with employment and/or counseling services; arranging for aid for the elderly; arranging for referrals to local government agencies; and coordinating the transportation of children to school or other suitable locations.
