More Information about Sober Living in Louisville Colorado
As a former addict of heroin and cocaine, I am very familiar with the many types of addiction recovery, including the struggles and triumphs of individuals in recovery. In addition to being familiar with the severity of addiction, I also have seen and done some things that provide information on sober living in Louisville, CO. Most notably was my work as a recovering addict for an alcohol and drug treatment center in Louisville, CO. During my 14 months of service at the facility, I gained valuable information about the emotional and physical challenges addicts face while trying to get clean, as well as the different types of so-called “sober living.”
I decided to write this article for the community of Louisville, Colorado, where I live now and hope to continue serving the newly admitted patients for the rest of my life. I hope to share with you the ups and downs of living in a “dry” environment, as well as some specific advice on how to prepare for such an experience. My goal is to help you make the choice between the “honeydo list” of “recreational choices,” and the real commitment necessary to create a healthy balance between your physical, mental, and emotional health. In my opinion, there are many benefits to switching to a more permanent lifestyle choice (which may be called “dry housing”) than those offered by “in-patient” treatment options such as detoxification and living in a halfway house.
I have seen first hand the emotional and physical challenges addicts face both during their time inpatient and after their discharge. In my time as a patient, I have seen people lose their sense of self control, fight off mood swings, fall into deep sleep, hallucinate, and become comatose. Some have even committed suicide. What most do not realize, however, is that these are all warning signs of ongoing addiction problems that require strong intervention. Only by facing these issues head-on, can you hope to regain any sense of control over your life.
